Mounts 5MBM22S, 5MBM22SP have a 1" mounting
hole with Æ24 mm clear aperture.
Inserted into the hole, optics is stopped by a resting flange. A fixing
screw secures the optics against hard rests, which make
2 contact
points. To prevent damage to the optics, the tip of the fixing screw
is made of plastic.
On one side the edge of the optics stays clear. So you can
use the optics close to the edge in schemes where beams are very closely
situated to one another.
The base of the mount has 3 holes Æ8.7mm
for driving screws of your choice. Usually we fit Fine Screws 9S127
or 9SH127.
Each screw has a hardened steel ball tip. It pushes the aluminium platform
against a hard seat. This results in increased durability, stability,
and fine motion.

In model 5MBM22S-1 the seat is of hardened stainless steel.
In model 5MBM22SP-1 the seat is of sapphire.
Models with hex driving screws 9SH127 without knobs have "-SH" appended
to their codes. Removable hex knobs 9RK127 are available separately.
Using an M6 screw you can mount 5MBM22S(P) on one side or
on another – for left or right hand tilting drive relative to the beam.
For this, each leg of the base of the unit has a combined Æ7-to-M6
hole (marked as M6/Æ7 in the drawings).
The unit also mounts directly on any STANDA Post Holder or Mounting
Post on their M6 tips. Alternatively you put an M4 screw
through the combined M6/Æ7 hole
to fasten on units with M4 holes. M6/Æ7mounting/clearance
holes are centered against the center of the mounted optics.
The platform has an original L-shaped flat spring. It performs two functions:
preloading the platform, and reducing its drift. The high tension spring
and the thick base of the unit increase its stability. This allowed to
eliminate a part of the mount, keeping clear one side of the optics.
5MBM22S and 5MBM22SP mounts are made of aluminium and can be anodized
in a color to your request. Without special note from you we would supply
mounts in black colour.
