8MT173-50		 Motorized Translation Stages 8MT173 are created on the base of 7T173 translators.
A lead screw of original Standa's design with tetrahedron coupling allows compact, but reliable leading gear design. Mechanical parameters of the motorised stages are the same as of translators 7T173. Resolution, speed and load capacity all depend on parameters of motor, leading gear, as well as on the controller and driving mode a user chooses to use.
To drive the motor from a computer we offer our controller 8SMCC1(3). It draws 12Volts from the PC. Optional external 24Volts power supply 8STRM01 is available for the card. At 24V the speed increases by some 40%.
Electrical parameters and wiring scheme of a motor accompany each unit.
Stepping Motors "Berger Lahr" RDM 253/50(B), DSh 200-0,08 , or similar are used in 8MT173.

Motor parameters are as follows:
2 phase bipolar wiring
200 steps per revolution
Step angle – 1.8°, Step angle accuracy – 5%
Holding torque about 120 mN·m
On request the stages are assembled with other types of stepping or servo motors of your choice.
It is easy to stack stages 8MT173 in two horizontal coordinates. 8MT173-50 and 8MT173-100 use M4 screws. 8MT173-20 use connecting cones (for demanding cases connecting plates are available).
Vertically a 8MT173 could be mounted by our angle brackets. Custom brackets are available.
The translation stages have two limit switches. They may be used to establish a reference position, but only roughly (within several motor steps).
Precise motor position can be visually established by reading a dial knob mounted on the axle. The knob is graduated every second step, allowing to read positions to a step.
Body and platform of the stages are of black finished aluminium, functional parts are of steel.

Æ7.1 hole is used to match a connecting cone 3CC6,
when you need compact and fast stacking for X-Y motion.
Brackets and connecting plates designed for more demanding applications are available.
